Tuition and Fees
Information on Berkeley's tuition and fees can be found on the Registrar's website. The graduate student budget can be found on the Financial Aid Office's website.
Non-resident students can gain California residency if they follow the Office of the Registrar's residency requirements. For additional information, please refer to Graduate Division's financial support page. For international students, please refer to Financial Aid for International Students.
Financial Support
The Global Studies program unfortunately has no funding available for MA students. Students may, however, apply for Graduate Student Instructor (teaching assistant) or Reader (grader) positions. These jobs cover all in-state tuition and fees and pay a monthly stipend. Out-of-state and international students are responsible for Non-Resident Supplemental Tuition (NRST), which is currently $15,102 per year (or $7,551 per semester). This cost is not covered by the GSI and Reader jobs. While we cannot guarantee that a student will secure one of these positions, historically most of our GS MA students who have wanted one of these positions have been successful.
