Jesi Faust is a lecturer in the Global Studies Department at UC Berkeley. She received her PhD in Global Studies from UC Santa Barbara in 2022 where her research focused on the residual impacts of colonialism and resistance in the contemporary politics of Morocco and the Philippines. Her current research focuses on the roles of gender and community in resistance and revolutionary movements across the globe. She is currently working on a project about community and resistance among unhoused and unsheltered women in the Bay Area as well as a comparative study of gendered colonialism and resistance in Morocco, Mexico and the Philippines.
