As the Director of Administration for the Interdisciplinary Social Science Programs (ISSP), Rachel manages operations related to finance, HR, student services, IT, and facilities for each of the programs in the unit, including Political Economy, Global Studies, and Cognitive Science.
Alex has been advising students at various universities since 2003. Prior to UC Berkeley, he worked at the City University of New York, Touro University-New York, the University of San Francisco, and San Francisco State University. Alex has also worked as a credentialed mental-health counselor, and as a lecturer for writing and English programs.
He holds a Master’s degree in Writing from the City University of New York, a Bachelor’s degree with two majors: Psychology and Journalism from Brooklyn College, and a Graduate Certificate in Counseling from Long Island University.
Nithya has been a staff member at UC Berkeley for over ten years. She loves her interactions with students and is passionate about their success. To successfully assist students in their academic journey, she recently completed the Master of Arts in Organization and Leadership with a focus on Higher Education from the University of San Francisco. She also holds a Certificate in Student Affairs and Higher Education from UC Berkeley Extension and a Master of Arts in Mass Communication.
